The 2008 International Mobile Gaming Awards happened earlier this week, and today Konami celebrated its win with Medal Gear Solid Mobile which took away top honors.

This isn't the first time a portable MGS game has gained critical acclaim; the 8-bit Game Boy Color edition has long been considered one of the best action games on the popular platform.

Unlike other industry awards, the IMGA focuses primarily on innovation and creativity. Konami took away $15,000 for the award, with other winners receiving $5,000. The following games were recognized on February 12.
